Cornerstone will kick-off the new year with a New Year's Eve party. We also have several events planned for the new year. We will be continuing our work with The River, as well as helping out at Luke House. We will also continue to have the Fellowship Dinners, Girls' nights and GOTES nights. In August, Cornerstone began working with The River food pantry and clothing closet. The next time we will be volunteering at The River is Friday, November 21. For more information, see the calendar.
St. Bernard Parish (Atwood Ave.) recently became a Cornerstone parish. We are excited that they have joined us and look forward to meeting the young adults of St. Bernard.
On Tuesday nights, Cornerstone has a young adult Bible study. They are currently studying the Acts of the Apostles. Starting in October, there will be a Saints and Angels prayer group on the first Thursday of every month.
Our two main events for August will be a trip to Holy Hill and volunteering at The River. The trip to Holy Hill will be on August 16. The group will be carpooling there and eating dinner together on the way home. On August 22, Cornerstone will be volunteering at The River Food Pantry and Clothing Closet. The group will be helping to prepare and serve the meal.
On Saturday, June 7, Cornerstone will be hosting a picnic at Tenney Park. The festivitis will begin at 1:00pm and include grilling, games and raffle prizes. All young adults in the Madison area are invited to attend this summer kick-off picnic.
On April 26, the girls and GOTES of Cornerstone will be gathering. The girls will be going to Mass, dinner and then to a member's home to socialize. The GOTES (Guys On The East Side) will be having a classic guys night of pizza, beer and a movie.
On the Fridays of Lent, we will be gathering for a fellowship dinner. The evening will involve a short time of reflection followed by a meal.
